Opening up to new beginnings, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram, K.M.Munshi Marg, Jaipur is organizing a 3-day long orientation programme from 28 June 2022 to 30 June 2022 for the faculty members to build their knowledge and sharpen their skills.
The first day’s session on the topic ‘Owning the Work You Do’ was conducted by Smt. Karuna Yadav, a renowned educationist and CBSE resource person. The school principal Smt. Pratima Sharma formally welcomed the distinguished guest. The session outlined the need to enhance, update and upgrade knowledge and skills of the participants. Receiving an overwhelming response, the speaker urged the educators to be effective mentors.
Smt. Seema Malik, an eminent Resource Person for CBSE Workshops, an accomplished educationist, mentor, author, persuasive communicator was the keynote speaker for the second day of the orientation programme. Principal, Smt. Pratima Sharma welcomed her. Smt. Seema Malik gave a deep insight on the topic- Indentifying Multiple Intelligences. The session was very interesting and interactive. The teachers of Balwadi and Primary section were divided into small groups after which they gave wonderful presentations incorporating all multi-disciplinary skills. It was a good learning experience to use creative skills and make classes lively and vibrant. She also put forth her views on the topic- Professionalism in the Workplace, wherein she discussed the problems that teachers face in classrooms and suggested practical solutions for them.
Department of I.T., under the banner of ITILA Club conducted a workshop for teachers on June 29, 2022. The topic was Soft Skills development in MS Excel and MS Word. The workshop was conducted in three batches of one hour each.
The HOD, Smt. Kalpana Gupta, introduced the topic to the participants and emphasised on the importance of the workshop. After introduction, Smt. Sumita Khare demonstrated the basic features of Ms Excel like data representation, formatting cells, inserting/deleting rows and columns and basic functions like SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN, etc.
Shri Nitesh Saxena then took over to familiarize teachers with Ms Word features like formatting text (font face, size, style, etc.), setting page properties (margin, orientation, size, etc.), inserting tables and using table properties.
The teachers attended the workshop with great enthusiasm and had a hands-on practice of the features.
Day 3 got the session going on with an energetic mode by Smt. Ranjana Joshi, the keynote speaker of the day.
Smt. Ranjana Joshi, the former Principal of Birla Vidya Niketan, Delhi, a social entrepreneur, poetess and actress, an excellent communicator and mentor was the Resource Person. She was accompanied by Ms. Tara Choudhary. In her session ' Teacher Improvement Quality Programme' Smt. Joshi elucidated that the students are the most important stakeholders of a school. She also mentioned that to survive as teacher 3 bones are needed- wishbone, backbone and a funny bone. She went on to explain that curriculum development is the key to effective learning. It can be covered in different ways following the theory that every child has a talent. She emphasized on making teachers qualities as their USP. The speaker focused on effective teaching techniques to improve teaching and simplified Bloom's Taxonomy. Smt. Joshi expatiated on making Teamwork as a habit. She maintained that teachers' should make students their partners to improve their quality of teaching.
The next part of the session was taken over by Ms. Tara Choudhary, who presented an integrated lesson plan. The session concluded with a task of preparing integrated lesson plans. It was quite an enriching session with enthralling participation.
